There have been recent reports of incidents involving foreigners being followed from Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg to their holiday accommodation by car and then robbed, very often at gunpoint. Be on your guard in and around the airport and when driving to your location.

It is advised that you travel with someone if possible and stay in well guarded well lit areas. Your tour operator will tell you the places you should and shouldn’t go and it is advised that you strictly stick to these to ensure you safety whilst on holiday in South Africa.
